REST IN PEACE--Baatin (slum village)
--At the age of 35, Baatin, co-founder of Slum Village has passed away. This unfortunate news came spewing out this morning via-twitter, from close friends and family. After the death of J Dilla in 2006, Detroit's music took a turn and now for this to occur I wouldn't doubt this leaving a dent in the entire Hip Hop community. My prayers go out to his family and close friends. Baatin parted from Slum Village in 2002 after being diagnosed with schizophrenia and waking from a three month coma. As he continued to work solo, 2009 marked the year of his return, reuniting with Slum Village. Set to release their newest project "Villa Manifesto" (September 22,2009), Slum Village is back from a 3 (almost 4) year hiatus. Rest In Peace Baatin, may God keep you close.
